After spending two amazing nights at Kayumanis Ubud Private Villa & Spa, we were ready for some beach vibes and headed to Sanur. And as Kayumanis also offers accommodation in Sanur, we decided to stay at the Kayumanis Sanur Villas as well!

Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa Review

About Kayumanis Villas and their philosophy

Kayumanis actually has four locations in Bali – two of which only accommodate guests of 12 years or older (“adults only”).

  • Kayumanis Ubud Private Villa & Spa (“adults only”, check our review!)
  • Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa
  • Kayumanis Nusa Dua (“adults only”)
  • Kayumanis Jimbaran
They also have two properties in China (Nanjing and Yangshuo) and are building another one in Surabaya, Indonesia as well.

What we really loved right from the beginning was Kayumanis philosophy and their focus on privacy. Kayumanis offers you the comfort of a resort – along with the privacy that comes with a private villa. They won countless luxury and spa awards as well – and we now know why!

About Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa consists of a central complex as well as individual luxury villas. There are no “normal rooms” at this accommodation in Sanur!

All of these villas come with a private pool – and they range from one to three bedrooms. They are all incredibly large – the “smallest” one being 400 sqm and the largest one being 800 sqm. (Although it’s hard to measure the size given the open air style – but more on that later!)

The location of Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa is located in Sanur, Bali. Sanur is best known for the ferries going to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. It’s an upscale beach resort area only 20-30 minutes from Denpasar Airport.

The private pool villas in Sanur are not located right at the beach but a bit into the countryside. Thus, you will walk around 15 minutes to get to the closest beach – or let someone from the hotel drive you! Kayumanis offers complimentary shuttles to their own private beach facility on Mertasari beach (~5-7 minutes driving) as well!

Check-in at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

When we arrived with our transport from Kayumanis Ubud at 1 pm, our private pool villa at Kayumanis Sanur was already ready for check in.

After a friendly welcome with drinks and a hotel towel, we were directly escorted to our villa.

The hotel ground of Kayumanis Sanur are super beautiful!

So let’s get right to what you wanted to know since you started reading this luxury hotel review – the private pool villas!

As mentioned earlier already, we stayed at Kayumanis Ubud Private Villa & Spa before – and our villa there also had a private pool and a similar open living concept. Since we already fell in love with their Ubud resort, we were eager to see the one in Sanur for sure!

And it turned out that our private pool villa in Sanur was even bigger – it had TWO floors!

The bedroom

The bedroom at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa is directly facing the pool and offers you a fantastic view in the morning! Imagine waking up and jumping in your private pool within one second – that’s what we did 😀

The open air living room

Once you properly woke up by a splash in the pool, you can then chill in your open-air living room! It is only covered by a roof in case of rain – but there are no walls around your living room!

There is a dining table and a fully sized kitchen in your living area! We didn’t use the kitchen but we loved the idea that you actually have the option to cook if you want!

The semi-open air bathroom

The lower floor bathroom (yes, there are TWO!) is semi-outdoor. The sink and closet area are covered while the bathtub is only covered by blinds that let in the tropical air.

There is also a shower in your bathroom if you don’t want to take a bath, don’t worry! 🙂

The upper-floor studio

After exploring our room downstairs, we were surprised to realize that there’s a second floor! It is called “studio” and comes with an indoor living room and a full second bathroom.

To be honest, we did not really use it as we loved sitting in our outdoor bathroom. But as Kayumanis Sanur welcomes kids, we can totally imagine the sofa serving as a kids bedroom. 🙂

The private pool

By now, you already should have realized that you have your private pool at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villas & Spa.

And we LOVED that pool! It was perfectly temperatured and had a nice sitting area at one end. Definitely the centerpiece of these villas!

The amenities

Kayumanis takes great care to reduce plastic waste as much as possible and thus, your bathroom amenities come in these beautiful containers.

And we also had a set for a DIY milk and flower bath in our room! You bet we used this directly for a relaxing evening bath!

When you head to the kitchen, you will find tea and coffee making facilities as well.

Free water is provided as well – and the minibar (with coke, diet coke and beer) is inclusive and will be refilled every day!

Facilities at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa offers a spa, a restaurant (“Gong”) and a private beach facility.

The Spa at Kayumanis Sanur

Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa does have the “Spa” in their name for a reason (and the “Private Villa” as well!). Kayumanis Sanur offers a state-of-the art spa with various traditional balinese spa treatments. (see their Spa menue here)

As mentioned earlier already, Kayumanis Sanur is NOT exactly at the beach in Sanur. However, they have their own private beach facility and they offer complimentary transfers to and from the villas to the beach facility.

At the beach, staff will set up beach chairs and umbrellas for you and provide you with beach towels. The only thing we were missing here was the option to order food and drinks! 🙂

The food at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

You know that I am all about the food, so next up in our review of Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa is their food offerings. And – spoiler  alert – these are worth mentioning for sure!

Breakfast at Kayumanis Sanur

Breakfast is something you will really love at Kayumanis Sanur! Each day, you can decide between five different breakfasts – from Indonesian to European and American. And then there’s the really cool thing: you can not only decide WHAT to have for breakfast, but also WHERE to eat it!

If you dont want to go to the restaurant, you can also have breakfast served in your villa at no extra cost. And they even offer it as a floating breakfast!

Enjoying a floating breakfast in our private pool villa

We did the floating breakfast after our first night in Kayumanis Sanur and we were actually surprised how easy it is!

We always thought people only “do it for the Gram” but then eat outside the pool. But thanks to the little bench in our pool it was actually really comfortable enjoying our floating breakfast!

For our second morning we opted to have a sunrise breakfast at Kayumanis Sanur’s Beach Facility – that comes at no extra cost as well!

We couldn’t believe it first, but all these options are already included in your accommodation cost. That is definitely unique and worth mentioning in our eyes!

High Tea at Kayumanis Sanur

Imagine, it’s 3 pm and you were just splashing around your private pool and you feel a little hunger coming up. Well then it’s time for a COMPLIMENTARY high tea at Kayumanis Sanur!

And again, you can decide whether you want to mingle with the other villa residents at Gong or if you prefer to have your afternoon tea in your private villa!

Dinner at Kayumanis Sanur

By now, you are probably not surprised anymore that you can also have dinner in your private villa if you like (but hey, how AWESOME is that?!).

However, you can also head to “Gong” (upmarket balinese cuisine) or to “Kayumanis Seaside Sanur” with a stunning view over Sindhu beach! We decided to eat at Gong Restaurants, but we are sure that the Seaside Facility is really great as well!

Whenever you eat at Kayumanis Gong Restaurant, you will get free water, amuse bouche and some bread with butter as well!

Wrap up - our personal verdict on Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

We think that Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa is a great place to spend your holiday or honeymoon. The private villas are absolutely gorgeous and the service at Kayumanis is top notch.

Sanur is perfect for families as the sea is generally calm and you can go swimming at high tide. It’s also a more relaxed vibe than the busy beaches of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. Sanur is also a great place to visit Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida on a day trip as the fast boats start at Sanur harbor!

If beach time is your most important holiday plan though, please note that Kayumanis Sanur does have its own private beach facility, but is not located directly at the beach.

This was no problem for us as we wanted to explore temples and waterfalls and just add a bit of beach time. Especially the sunrise breakfast at the beach was amazing though!
