Grosvenor House Dubai Marina Review

End of April 2018 Markus and I stayed at Grosvenor House Dubai (A luxury collection hotel) for three nights.

Biggest surprise for us was upon checking – we were upgraded to a huge 3-bedroom suite on the 23th floor! I think this was the biggest room we stayed in so far. Even bigger than the Executive suite at Hyatt Istanbul – which was awesome too!

But of course, especially in Dubai with an amazing selection of top luxury hotels and resorts there is a lot of things to look at when choosing the right hotel for your dream holiday!

Thus I decided to write an in-depth review of Grosvenor House Dubai to give you all the details you need to know!

Grosvenor House Dubai Marina Review

The location of Grovenor House

Grosvenor House is located in two big towers in Dubai Marina. For tourists, this is exactly where you want to be placed. At night, Dubai Marina turns into a glitz of light of all the skyscrapers around. And at daytime you have the gorgeous JBL beach with its fine white sand right at your toes. It’s also, were all the cool beach clubs are located!

Oh, and as Grosvenor House does not have its own beach there is something worth noting: they are closely associated with Le Royal Meridien next door. Thus, you can use their pool and beach as well and there is even a free shuttle bus every 15min between the two hotels! So, beach: check!

The Lobby / Hotel Grounds of Grosvenor House Dubai

Flower buquet at lobby of Grosvenor House Dubai

As mentioned, Grosvenor House Dubai is two remarkably big towers – easy to recognize from far away already.

The main lobby is located in Tower 1 at ground level and had the biggest array of flowers I have seen so far in any hotel! The design of Grosvenor House is luxurious yet modern. Some Emirati hotels boast of gold decor which I sometimes feel are a bit outdated.

Grosvenor House Dubai is different – it transformed the rich Emirati luxury into a modern and contemporary style. Well done!

The Room (Suite) at Grosvenor House

Well, it’s a bit difficult to call this huge suite at Grosvenor House Dubai a room. We had a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dressing room, a separate toilet and three balconies. So crazy!!!

The view from the 23th floor on the Marina was outright amazing at night! Also, we could see the sunrise in the morning through the large glass windows.

I absolutely loved the design – same as the hotel grounds it was luxurious and glamorous and at the same time modern.

We slept in two different bedrooms (and skipped the twin bed) – both were incredibly comfortable (once we removed three of the five (!) cushions per bedside).

New: Explore the Room in 3D!

Pictures don’t do hotel rooms justice all the time? Well, then I have something new for you!

I have partnered up with Wolowo – an online tour creator that makes it possible to create 3D Tour that you can navigate around. There is even additional pictures and info spots that you can click – If this doesn’t give you a feeling of the room, well, then you need to visit the place yourself I guess! 🙂

To move around simply drag the image – and click the white hotspot (the white dot with the black border) to move to another room / panorama!

If you are a blogger and are interested in taking 3D panoramas like this with your smartphone too – then contact me or Wolowo. They have a product called the Wolaptor to make this super easy.

And if you are a hotel that would like to have a similar tour for your hotel: Shoot me an email to [email protected] – I can do this for you too!

The In-Room Amenities

Bathroom Amenities at Grosvenor House Dubai

Grosvenor House Dubai offers the full range of amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion.

Also, lots of free water was provided by the hotel. To be more precise: we had 10 bottles of water in our suite (which were refilled every day)!

There is a kettle and tea making facilities in the room too, including real milk and a selection of teas.

The Food at Grosvenor House Dubai

I only had breakfast at the hotel as we had lounge access and thus skipped the other restaurants. I have heard that they are among the best in Dubai Marina though!

The breakfast buffet was really extensive with warm and cold dishes around the world, including English, American, Indian and Asian selections. There was also a fruit station and a healthy corner with yummy hummus (we are both soooo addicted to hummus!). Oh, and of course there was an egg station where you can order all kinds of egg dishes. I particularly liked that you didn’t have to wait in line. Instead, you tell them your table and a waiter will bring it to you quite quickly!

The Pool and Spa of Grosvenor House Dubai

Only after I stay I realized, there is actually two pools at Grosvenor House Dubai! One is in tower one, one in tower two. I only visited the one in tower one where our room was.

The pool (called “The Retreat Pool”) was on level 4 of tower one, offering a nice view over Dubai’s skyscrapers. There is plenty of sunbeds at the pool as well as umbrellas if you prefer some shade. Pool attendants brought refreshing towels, water and a small fruit slush (all complimentary) during our pool visit.

I also took the time to visit the women spa in the evening. It has a sauna, a steam room and a Jacuzzi as well as some nice relaxing loungers. There was little towels in a fridge that smelled soooooo awesome! Fresh water was also provided at the sauna – so I’ll give Grosvenor House full point in this review for their pool and spa!

The second pool seems to be on Level 4 in Tower Two overlooking the marina and is called “Siddharta Pool” – I will check this next time I visit!

The Executive Lounge of Grosvenor House Dubai

If you are a Mariott platinum member or you are booked into one of the club rooms you will have access to the Executive lounge of Grosvenor House Dubai on level 5 in Tower Two.

I have been to quite a number of hotel lounges – and this is THE BEST so far!

They provide free breakfast in the morning as well as “light bites” from 1pm to 5pm. Don’t be fooled by the name – it’s a full lunch buffet including salad bar and warm dishes. Also, they had AMAZING bakery and sweets for afternoon tea. From 6-8pm it is “pre dinner drinks”. Again, this is not just drinks – it is a full buffet dinner (similar to “light bites”, including free drinks a la carte – try the Pink Bellini!

The Staff / Service

Even though Grosvenor House already surprised us with some really excellent points (like the outstanding selection of food in the lounge or the HUGE suite they upgraded us into) one point deserves special attention: their service!

I have heard really bad things about service in Dubai’s hotels – but Grosvenor House was simply outstanding! I think even for a 5* luxury hotel their staff stood out in the level of service and friendliness they offered!

When I arrived at the hotel, Markus was still at the airport as he came in on another flight. The reservation was on his name – but this was no problem at all. When I arrived at the hotel I was really exhausted from the flight. Directly, someone helped with to the lobby and lugged around my giant suitcase. Arriving there I didn’t need to wait at the counter. Instead I was offered a water and give a seat. The reception staff then came by my seat and filled out the details on the check-in form. They didn’t even ask me for the credit card or Markus Mariott status number (he’s platinum) – they offered they’ll do that with him once he arrives and offered me to go up to the room straight away. I think that was just very professional and friendly.

And this experience continued thought-out our whole stay – full points again for Grosvenor House Dubai!

Wrap up – My personal verdict on Grosvenor House Dubai

If direct beach access is not an absolute must for you, then Grosvenor House in Dubai is definitely one of the best choices in Dubai to stay!

It combines the proximity to JBR beach (and the access to Le Royal Meridien beach) with the urban glamour of one of Dubai’s skyscrapers. Try to get a room with Marina view as this is just stunning at night and the giant windows will allow you to enjoy this view from your bedroom as well!

Also, it is located pretty much in the middle of all really cool beach clubs in Dubai – especially the ones with amazing ladies day offers!
