Hi lovelies!

If you are planning to go to Taipei soon, I got a tip for you where to stay if you want to spoil yourself some luxury without emptying your pockets completely: The Miramar Garden Hotel!

If you prefer to watch my video review of the Miramar Garden Hotel instead, here’s the option!

We just stayed five nights there and we chose the hotel based on reviews on booking.com and Agoda. So here’s what it was like:

The Check-in and Lobby of the Miramar Garden Hotel

The moment you approach the building, it already looks kinda out if place because it has this old grandeur while the surrounding area is rather unspectacular.

When you enter the Lobby of the Miramar Garden Hotel, you also get a similar impression: it has a very classic design with a luxury glamour to it. Check-in was quick and efficient and we quickly went up to our room on the 10th floor.

The Room

I really liked the spacious marble bathroom with a shower and a bathtub (I looove soaking!!!) – very light and luxurious.

The design of the room at the Miramar Garden Hotel was not exactly my personal style as I am more a fan of light, modern architecture. But I have to say, that everything was super clean and in a very good condition – not exactly typical in Asia!

Big windows, tea making facilities and a nice lighting concept with a master switch also rounded that experience. And we could even see Taipei 101 from our window!

The Pool and the Spa Area

This got me really excited and is, what I really love about 5☆ Hotels – the Spa area!!! I am such a spa enthusiast!

And with the temperatures ranging around the 30°C I was also craving for a dip in the pool!

Unfortunately, there is one limitation: you need to wear a swimming cap in order to use the pool! It is a typical Taiwanese thing. But one, that I didn’t know about! So we first needed to find a swimming cap – but for the spa, a normal free shower cap from the hotel was fine.

So, time to pamper myself and relax! They entire spa area is gender separated and textile free (essentially limiting me in the ability to take photos to one moment in the morning! I tried numerous times to find it empty, believe me! Staff was already giving me weird looks when I entered the Spa for the 5th time or so just to leave it minutes after!)

But back to the review: The spa area comes with sauna and steam room as well as with a cold pool and a spacious Jacuzzi! And it’s meticulously cleaned (don’t be surprised seeing female staff entering the sauna and wipe the floor while you lie there naked 😆) and equipped with lots of amenities.

The Breakfast Buffet

That was a real highlight of our stay! Being in Asia I was delighted to see that there was a full range of western and asian breakfast option! Noodle soup or Omlette Station? At the Miramar Garden Hotel Taipei you can have it all!

Breakfast is served from 6:30-10:00 and there is plenty of room to sit. The staff is very attentative and if you ask for a window table, you can even watch the Kois in their little lake while you sip your surprisingly strong espresso!

Other remarks about the Miramar Garden Hotel

We also used the room service once as I was too lazy to leave the room after soaking in the bathtub 😁.

And I was pleasantly surprised that the spaghetti were not only super tasty, but also exactly al dente! Markus had the club sandwich and also liked this a lot.

The Miramar Garden Hotel Taipei is a taiwanese 5***** Hotel. Although there were many international chains, I gave this one a chance and stayed five nights there in May 2018 - read my honest review what I liked and what not!

Did I miss something? Yeah, Connectivity!

For the social media addicts like me: Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and – as fairly common in Taipei – super quick and for free!

So, all in all I can definitely recommend the Miramar Garden Hotel Taipei – although design-wise it was not my personal favorite and it is a bit far from the next metro station. You definitely still feel that it is not part of an international chain – but this also comes with some upsides (like an asian style spa area) and results in a comparably low price for a 5***** Hotel in Taipei!
