“The world is like a book – if you don’t travel, you only read one page”
Hi, I am Sarah and I travel the world together with my husband Markus. We have been to almost 50 countries so far and plan to see even more! To me, the world is such a magical place and I can’t stop from wanting to explore more and more of it!
In January 2018 I decided to start an Instagram page (fernwehsarah) about my travel adventures and I was super surprised, how quick it started growing! But everyone who knows me, knows I talk a lot. A LOT. No chance to fit them in a caption – and that’s why I need to share all the advice I have on this blog! 😊
As I know, that you guys are always curious on Instagram, here’s a little bit of my background : I was born and raised in southern Germany (aka the dirndl and beer part!), but I am now a true “Berlin city girl” (listen to that song – it’s one of my favorite bands!)😊 Often people ask what I do for a living: Unfortunately there is no magical money tree in my appartment (i suck with plants anyway!), so I studied medicine in the intention to become a badass neurosurgeon (and yes, I am accredited physician!). But life is full of unexpected opportunities and instead of actually working as a doctor I started as a management consultant for Boston Consulting Group in 2015.
When Markus and I got married in 2017, we decided to go on a trip around the world for nine months as travel is our shared passion. And I tell you – it is hell of an adventure! 😁
I hope this blog and my social media accounts will be both inspiration and helpful tools for you on your travels and maybe even get more people addicted to traveling the world! 🌍

Hello! Wow what an amazing opportunity to get to travel the world for 9 months! This is something I definitely want to do once I’ve finished university! There are so many wonderful and magical places to explore- life is too short to not! I’ll be sure to refer to your blog for all travel tips and tricks! xx
I was dreaming about that since university too!
The cool thing is – it is definitely possible and you will be able to do that! Companies nowadays realize that our generation doesn’t only want to work 9-5 for the rest of their life!
xoxo
