“Disneyland Paris Fastpasses” was one of the first topic that caught my interest when I planned my visit to Disneyland Paris last week together with my best friend Cat. I love Fastlanes at Airports and I am constantly driving on the left lane of the Autobahn whenever I can. I also bought a fantastic blogging course called “Blogging Fastlane” (highly recommended btw!).
So no wonder, that I wanted to know more about the Disneyland Paris Fastpass! I read about it on a number of blogs and the Disney Website before our visit, but the information was contradictory and confusing. Disneyland Paris also recently changed their Fastpass system and so a lot of posts where outdated.
So when it was time for our visit, I made sure to check everything myself in order to better explain you the concept of Disneyland Paris Fastpasses – how they work, which types exist and if it’s worth to spend money on a SUPER / ULTIMATE Fastpass!

What is the Disneyland Paris Fastpass?
So, let’s start very basic: A Disneyland Paris Fastpass is a little piece of paper that let’s you skip most of the queue at some of the most popular attractions at Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studio Parks. And it’s probably the most important Disneyland Paris tip that anyone can give you!
Attractions that work with Fastpass have two lines for queuing – the regular line and the “Fastpass Lane”. While queues at major attractions can easily reach 120 minutes waiting time at high season, Fastlanes very rarely have a queuing time of more than 10 minutes – usually it’s even below five minutes!
At which attractions can you use Disneyland Paris Fastpasses?
Not all attractions at Disneyland Paris do have a Fastlane System and a queue where you can use your Fastpass! But at least – most of the big thrills like Big Thunder Mountain can be used with the Disneyland Paris Fastpass!
Fastpass attractions at Disneyland Paris
There’s a total of six (sometimes seven) attractions at Disneyland Paris that you can use the Disneyland Paris Fastpass system:
- Big Thunder Mountain (Roller Coaster)
- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril (Roller Coaster)
- Peter Pan’s Flight (Themed Ride)
- Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast (Laser Shooting Gallery)
- Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain (Roller Coaster)
- Star Tours: The Adventure Continues (Star Wars Movie with random plot)
- (Phantom Manor)
Fastpass attractions at Walt Disney Studio Parks Paris
At Walt Disney Studio Parks, you can skip the line at four (sometimes five) attractions with the Disneyland Paris Fastpasses:
- Ratatouille: The Adventure (3D Ride)
- Crush’s Coaster (Roller Coaster)
- The Tower of Terror (Haunted House)
- Rock ‘n Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith (Roller Coaster)
- (Flying Carpets over Agrabah)
Fastpasses can only occasionally be used at “Flying carpets over Agrabah” – mostly when one of the other Fastpass rides is closed for maintenance.
Popular attractions WITHOUT a Fastpass
Unfortunately some really popular attractions at Disneyland Paris do NOT have a Fastpass lane – meaning you can expect some serious queue lines during high season nevertheless!
Namely, these attractions include:
- Pirates of the Carribean (Themed Ride)
- Phantom Manor (Haunted House)
- Casey Jr – Le Petit Train du Cirque (very tame Roller Coaster)
How the Fastpass system works at Disneyland Paris
Good news, it is really easy to use the Fastpass system at Disneyland Paris – let me explain you how to: Basically the Fastpass system is based on separate queuing lines for “regular” riders and Fastpass owners. Normally, you can expect little to no waiting times with a Disneyland Paris Fastpass.
Even during high season, I did not see any waiting time longer than 10 minutes for Fastpass users (while other rider has to queue up to 120 minutes!). The only exemption is Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast as the Fastlane merges early with the regular lane and thus, you might have to wait 15 minutes or so.
Based on your Disneyland Paris Fastpass, you can simply use the fast lane instead of the regular lane or you first have to collect a ticket for this ride. That’s what the Fastpass machines are for – I’ll explain this under the section of the “normal” (free) Disneyland Paris Fastpass.
At the beginning of each Fast Lane, a member of staff will check your eligibility for the Fastlane – so don’t hope on sneaking into that line without a Fastpass!
The different version of Disneyland Paris Fastpasses
There’s a lot of confusion about the Disneyland Paris Fastpass online and this is simply because there are different versions of the Fastpass that come with different rules. And they recently changed the system so that some of the old Disneyland Paris Tips are not valid anymore.
Basically there are currently seven different Fastpasses for Disneyland Paris – and some discontinued old options that you still find online!
I’ll explain each of the systems to you and then I’ll also tell you about the prices and what to consider when deciding if a paid Disneyland Paris Fastpass is worth the money!
The “normal” (free) Disneyland Paris Fastpass
Good news first: There’s a free version of the Disneyland Paris Fastpass! And if you plan smart, you can use it to skip the lines two to three times for major attractions and save a considerable amount of queuing time!
Here’s how it works: Each Fastpass Attraction has a ticket booth for Fastpass tickets that looks like this one here:
At these counters, you can scan your Disneyland admission ticket and it will print out a Fastpass for this attraction with an allocated time slot when you can skip the line at this attraction.
Once you get this pass, you are free to do something else at the park until it is time for “your slot”. At this time, you simply give the Fastpass to the Staff member of the attraction that is guarding the Fastlane and he’ll let you use this queue.
So, can you simply get Fastpasses for all attractions in the morning and then ride them later? The answer to this is: “No. Not with the free Disneyland Paris Fastpass.” There’s an important restriction: You can only get another Fastpass for an attraction after you have used the Fastpass OR two hours have passed.
That means, you need to plan ahead and you should get the first Fastpass right after entering the park!
Let’s say you get your first Fastpass at 11AM and it has a time slot for 3-3:30PM. Then you will be able to grab another Fastpass to any attraction at 1PM (two hours after 11AM) – even though you did not use the first Fastpass so far!
One thing to note here: At busy times, Fastpasses can be “sold out” already around 1PM for the whole day – the machines will then be covered! Indiana Jones Temple of Peril is usually one of the last ones to still have Fastpasses available and Thunder Mountain is said to “sell out” the quickest – so plan ahead!
If you manage to get a ticket at shortly after 10AM, noon and 2PM you will be able to skip three lines – but don’t plan on that last one if you are visiting during high season!
The (paid) SUPER Fastpass
Beginning of October 2018, Disney started to sell paid versions of the Disneyland Paris Fastpass online and at the park as well – the SUPER and the ULTIMATE Fastpass.
These Fastpasses are valid from 10:30 AM in the morning and have to be presented together with a special bracelet that you have to wear in order to use the Fastlane. You can use the Fastpasses at any time without a special allocated timeslot (as with the free version)
The SUPER Fastpass only offers Fastlane access to three attractions ONCE during the day and it comes in two versions with different included attractions:
- Family attractions: Ratatouille, Peter Pan’s Flight, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast OR
- Big thrills attractions: Starwars Hyperspace Mountain, Rock ‘n Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
The (paid) ULTIMATE Fastpass
The Disneyland Paris ULTIMATE Fastpass essentially works like the Disneyland Paris SUPER Fastpass – but for all Fastpass Attractions.
So this means it covers the attractions included in the SUPER Fastpass “Family attractions” + “Big Thrills attractions” + Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones and Star Tours.
And again, the Disneyland Paris ULTIMATE Fastpass comes in two version – one-time access or unlimited access. Only the last version, the ULTIMATE Fastpass UNLIMITED really allows you to ride all Fastpass attractions as often as you want!
So basically, the ULTIMATE Fastpass UNLIMITED is a Disneyland Paris VIP Fastpass for sale (see below on how to get it for free).
The Disneyland Paris Hotel Fastpass
Guest that are staying at some of the Disneyland Hotels at Disneyland Paris get a complimentary “Disneyland Paris Hotel Fastpass”. These are available for guests at the following properties / rooms:
- Disney’s Hotel New York (Empire State Club rooms)
- Disney’s Sequoia Lodge (Golden Forest Club room)
- Disney’s Newport Bay Club (Compass Club rooms)
Before you freak out if you are eligible: It is just a Fastpass that can be used ONCE for ONE attraction – so even if you optimize it in combination with the free complimentary use of the Fastpass booths – you won’t be able to skip the line more than four times (at best) during high season!
Moreover, there’s a blackout time between 1PM and 4PM during which the Disney Hotel Fastpass CANNOT be used.
The Disneyland Paris Hotel VIP Fastpass
The one pass that is really a gamechanger when you stay at a Disneyland Hotel is the Disneyland Paris Hotel VIP Fastpass!
It is essentially the same as the ULTIMATE Fastpass UNLIMITED – meaning you can ride all Fastpass attractions at Disneyland Paris as often as you want!
The Disneyland Paris Hotel VIP Fastpass is complimentary for guest at the following properties / rooms:
- Disneyland Hotel (Suites + Castle Club guest)
- Disney’s Hotel New York (Suites)
- Disney’s Newport Bay Club (Suites)
- Disney’s Sequoia Lodge (Suites)
Disneyland Paris Fastpass Prices
As mentioned, there is a complimentary version of the Fastpass where visitors have to use the Fastpass machines and that is explained above.
The new SUPER and ULTIMATE Fastpasses are paid passes and they come in different pricings in high and low season (also check Disney’s website for updates).
Where to get Disneyland Paris Fastpasses (SUPER + ULTIMATE)
You can buy Disneyland Paris SUPER and ULTIMATE Fastpasses in advance online up to two days before your visit at the Disneyland website. And that’s also what I would recommend you to do!
Depending on availability (SUPER and ULTIMATE Fastpasses can sell out), you can also buy them at the park at (prepare for lines):
- Disney Hotels
- Disney Parks entrances
- City Hall in Disneyland Park
- Studio Services in Walt Disney Studios Park
Is the paid Disneyland Paris Fastpass worth it?
So now that we have covered all the facts about the Disneyland Paris Fastpass – let’s look at if it’s actually worth purchasing such a Fastpass for Disneyland Paris!
If we look at the SUPER Fastpass, that means paying 15€ PER RIDE fora a park that you already payed entrance to during high season. And during low season (where you will probably NOT need it), it’s still a whopping 10€ per day. But then again, if you or your kids REALLY want to ride some of the popular rides, it might be worth it for the peace of mind!
Given that the ULTIMATE Fastpass with Single Access is 90€ during High Season and it can be used at a total of 9 attractions, this still means that you will pay 10€ PER RIDE. And that’s only true if you really ride all the attractions. So it’s actually not much of a better deal – I would prefer the SUPER Fastpass then and select the ones I REALLY want.
The pass with the best “value for money” in my eyes is the most expensive one – the ULTIMATE Fastpass UNLIMITED. If you are a real thrill-seeker this pass gives you the option to ride all the roller coaster as often as you want. Given that Roller Coasters are usually the most expensive rides in park where you pay by ride, you could make up for these 150€ fairly quickly!
So it’s a bit difficult to say if you should buy a Fastpass. I would consider either the SUPER Fastpass or probably go straight away for the ULTIMATE Fastpass UNLIMITED (and NEVER stop riding Big Thunder Mountain for the whole day…! :D)
The Alternative: Staying at one of the selected rooms at a Disneyland Hotel
As mentioned, I am not sure if I really recommend the paid Fastpasses. But I would definitely consider staying at a Castle Club room at the Disneyland Hotel now that I know they have the Disney Hotel VIP Fastpass (and all the other perks of the castle club…).
If you can afford it, staying at one of these dream places offers the best value-for-money when it comes to Fastpasses (think of being a family of four – then these Fastpasses are worth 600€ per day alone!)
And as mentioned above – also check Sequoia Lodge Suite availability – these can be a real Disney bargain given what you get for it!
Tip: Sometimes, if the suites and castle rooms don’t seem to be available online, you can call and ask. They are not always listed – and you might even be able to upgrade an existing booking!
Disneyland Paris Fastpass FAQ
Here’s the answers to a few questions that I found people to frequently ask about the Disneyland Paris Fastpass and the answer to these questions!
A: No, Disneyland Paris does not (yet) have a Magic Bracelet for Fastpasses like Disney World. There are no announcement that they would introduce one either.
A: No. You can’t get Fastpasses for attractions before the Fastpass counters opens at 10:30 AM. That’s because it would be unfair to other guest that are not staying at a Disneyland Hotel.
A: Yes, you can get free Fastpass with every type of ticket – online tickets, tickets bought at the entrance, annual passes and even press tickets (I tried myself 😉 )
A: Yes, you can! And you should try to! Two hours after getting your first Fastpass you can get a second one – even if you have not yet used the first Fastpass!
A: Yes, the SUPER and ULTIMATE Fastpass. It is not possible to buy a single Fastpass anymore at the Disney Store for 15€ each – you now have to get at least the SUPER FASTPASS if you absolutely want to ride an attraction, queues are long and the free fastlane tickets are gone.
A: Unfortunately, yes! If you don’t redeem your free Fastpass during the time that is written on the ticket, it becomes invalid. There are rumours that you do have 15 minutes extra where staff is instructed to let you use it anyway, but you shouldn’t count on that.
A: In general, the answer is no. But again, if it’s only a few minutes before the printed time slot, staff might let you in already.
A: Some attractions are simply not made to be used with Fastpasses because there are no two separate queuing lines. Also, Disneyland chooses to not offer them at all possible ones (like Phantom Manor or Flying Carpets over Agrabah) at all times. To be honest, I don’t know why.
A: Big Thunder Mountain and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain as well as Ratatouille are the most difficult Fastpasses to get and they do run out earliest. Given that Hyperspace Mountain AND Ratatouille have Single Rider Lanes, I would personally get Big Thunder Mountain first.
The “Early Access Card” is somewhat similar to a Fastpass System and is given to people that are temporarily ill or pregnant. It can be issued at the Disneyland City Hall upon proof and allows you to get a certain timeslot for attractions for you and up to four “helpers”.
A: Basically, yes. If you are disabled, you can get a “Priority Card” and/or a “Early Access Card” upon proving your disability. Please note that disabled persons have to be accompanied by an able-bodied person and may not be allowed on all rides. More information on Disneyland Paris support for disabled guests can be found on their website!
A: Not like you may know it from Disney World. You CANNOT reserve Fastpass slots for attraction in advance, you need to get them from the counters inside the park.
BUT you can buy a SUPER and ULTIMATE Fastpass in advance online and these can be used with any attraction that has a fastpass system.
Other options to save queuing time at Disneyland Paris
If you don’t want to spend your money on one of the paid fastpasses, how can you save queuing time at Disneyland Paris?
